3D printed balls for swimming IoT hardware. Holders are made for Raspberry Pi Zero (W), Tinkerforge Bricks and Bricklets, and GoPro cameras.
You will need:
- 1x acrylic christmas tree bauble, divisible, Ø 14cm
- 1x seal ring (O-ring) 126x4mm (Inner diameter x material diameter)
2-components cast resign
- 8x DIN 912 cylinder-head bolds, M4 x 18
- 8x DIN 934 hexagon nuts, M4
We printed the rings with 100% infill to minimise micro cracks, 0,2 mm layer height, without support or raft
Put one side of the christmas bauble into the groove of the 3d printed ring and fill it up with the 2 component cast resign. You will need about 8ml resign for one side.
Screw both sides together like shown in the explosion picture. Be careful with the bolds and don't overtwist them. You will get micro cracks in the ring and water can flow inside the ball.
