Summary
Wade's original geared extruder block is too big to print on a makerbot.
I remade the extruder block in OpenSCAD so that I could then carefully downscale parts of the extruder block to make it manageable. (I was inspired by the guy who used OpenSCAD to "patch" the original STL to take a BfB hot end, but for what I wanted to do it seemed better to recreate the whole thing).
Instructions
As it is, the scad file gives you the smaller version, but you can comment out a few lines to get the original size, or feel free to slice and dice your own variations.
The STL is positioned to avoid the back 3mm of the makerbot build platform and build up and out over the front by a couple of mm. This is because my Y idler pulley prevents access to the back 3mm of my build platform.
When printed, there are a couple of thin disks that you need to drill through where the main m8 bolt goes through, they are there to make some of the gap closings printable.
