Hello, can you modify it so that in both diameters are 5mm and put girls 17 without problems?

Printed box sides @ .2 layer with PLA on a printer that was a Tarantula but is now 10% original (Linear slides, etc). Printed the other parts @ .1 layer. Minimal post processing cleanup. Backlash (measured with a test rig) is less than 1/3 of a turn on the input shaft and about 25% of that backlash can be further eliminated by using a tight fitting input key (mine is not snug at 5mm). Using 3 of these (Azimuth, Elevation & Focus) to control a Dobsonian mount for telescope. The Focuser is 24000 steps for 45mm travel with this of which only 100 steps will be backlash and can be compensated for by my remote PC (backyard 'scope, I hate mosquito bites). The other 2 axis' will also be going through a gt-2 belt reduction (20t/240t) for a 720:1 reduction which is needed for proper resolution of tracking of the planets.

The output can be secured with the following, in order: bolt>star washer>garden hose washer>center of the output gear>split washer>nut
After that you have the rest of the bolt. You can grind a flat on the side for a set screw and attach pulleys or go straight off the end of the bolt with rubber tubing. I centered my bolt in the gear (made it a tad long so it would compress and center) with rubber tubing to avoid cracking the drive from load shock coming back in from whatever I would drive. I'd say 15 rpm is about all you can expect from the output on this. I'm shooting for 12 rpm out 720 in which will go through a 240:20 gt-2 belt reduction (http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:16627) to give me 60 seconds for a 360 rotation and 15 seconds to go from horizon to vertical on my telescope when slewing. I suspect I will have to cut the speed down by half. I'll follow up

Nice file but print the worm vertically, max fans and let it cool off all the way after the print before you remove it. This makes sure it will be straight. Use a hex key (5mm) to check through the worm. If the worm is true the key should pass through the center like a hot knife through butter (or if you are on a diet, margarine).

I'm currently designing an extruder based on a worm gearbox, mainly to make something compact in the X/Y plane (the DC motor will be vertical). Do you think a printed design, like yours, can handle the torque needed to extrude 1.75mm filament?
