Created some goose silos 2 years ago (using the templates in the files section), then used 1/4" aluminum welding rod for the legs.
This worked OK for a season, but then had a lot of rods bend in the wind or snap when trying to seat them in hard ground.
My hunting buddy came up with the following design for an improved spike support system.
Uses 12" length 1/2" diameter nails inserted into the spike widget, then that is seated into the recess under the Decoy widget and secured with epoxy.
Silhouettes are made out of 4mm corrugated plastic and slide right into the decoy widget.
I've also attached an STL for a feather template for spraying the feather pattern onto the decoys. Print 2 braces and glue them centered on split to reinforce the template.
