You mention using a rubber (or TPA) washer to make this air-tight. Could you not use a little water to create a seal? Maybe a few ml's?

I mean the seal between the bottle and the airlock. Thinking about it, I'm not fully sure if it would be needed since there will be a slight overpressure in the bottle anyways so no air should get in. But I figure if you have a rubber washer that could create a seal between the bottle and the airlock it would be best.

It´s to thin. Breaks easily if tightened to much. Leaks in bottom
