This enclosure/housing is for the LM2596 without screw-terminals. I don't know if the ones with terminals will fit. I made this because none of the housings I saw met my design needs. I procured a menagerie of different connectors and put them to good use. I also glued them in place. My manufacturer of the LM2596 claims it is rated to 3A.... I always keep it a little lower and because I use them mainly to step down from 24V to 12V for fans and the fans are mostly below 1A each..... 3 output plugs and we are safe.
Please See The Pictures (I got them on Ali)
WHITE INPUT CONNECTOR - 10mm x 5.5mm x 13mm (2 pin)
BLACK OUTPUT PLUG- 11.6mm diameter threads, 14mm outer diameter (3 pin, only use 2)
I made 3m nut indents on the bottom if you want to use the screws but you don't have to.

You don't really need supports but I used "bed-only" with small pattern spacing to support a couple of the holes. Just print them both flat side down and they should come out good.
You can use a couple M3 screws to keep the lid tight but I designed the lid to be snug anyway so it is up to your preference.
