Cufflink designed for wearing with a tuxedo shirt. Suitable for formal occasions or just classing up the workshop.

There are 2 versions of these.

The ones in the picture with the bowtie are from the file android-cufflink-3.stl and were printed on a printer that has soluble support material. Unfortunately, this version doesn't come out too well without the support material because of a lack of a flat surface area for the base.

I've also uploaded android-cufflink-nobowtie.stl which should print well with the Android oriented face-down. It has a slope to the holder flange on the back of the cuffling to minimize overhang as well.

For finishing I spray-painted with Krylon Chrome paint to give the silver appearance. The bowtie was painted with black acrylic paint after the silver paint had a chance to set.

I love the design, and tried the current version with a couple different settings, but I only get a head, and the rest of the print. No body or legs. (it is amazing that the rest of the cufflink will print with just the head touching the plate). Any suggestions on settings to get a complete print from a Replicator 2? thanks!

I love the cuff links!

Unfortunately, for some reason I can't get the antennae to print. It seems like the slicer is ignoring them. I've tried the makerbot slicer on best settings as well as a 100 micron skeinforge profile. I'm printing on a 2x. Does anyone have any suggestions?

Tried printing with the head down and I broke off the antennae from the raft. Will try again later but with the head right side up.

tried to print these, but sadly the bowtie means it's almost impossible to print face down, so you lose the front.

the flange overhang isnt too bad though and can be cleaned up.

I uploaded a second STL "android-cufflink-nobowtie.stl" that both removes the bowtie and adds a 45 degree chamfer to the flange which hopefully helps.
