In reply to Spockman, Yes, access bothered me as well. I found that it was really easy to insert filament into the holder, can do it one handed and inserting the filament and noticing how the printer it graps, pulls in and pushes out is really rewarding. So I would use the MK3 panel to initiate the load and eject if necessary and I rarely use the buttons on the MMU. The MK3 LCD unit can be mounted outside the enclosure if needed.

Further I use octoprint and my phone with printoid to do most printer handling.

My solution is now also on thingiverse, see: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3172330

Prusa MMU2 close to wall, filament storage and guide

More pictures please? How do you handle the height increase needed?

Hello Gryn,

I didnt want to make my Lack Enclosure any taller. Instead I mounted the MMU on top of the lack and passed the tube thru. See my other item.

MMU 2.0 Lack Enclosure Mount

This must be a good idea, because independently of you I designed and installed something similar for my MMU2. Mine is going to dry boxes above the printer though. I did some fiddling with Samla boxes that is worth sharing, net result is that I can now feed to the MMU choosing 5 out of 24 roles and the printer is still in its enclosure close to the wall. I will try and upload my solution as well, but refer to yours.

well done!

Hello Ruedli,

Thanks for the support. I like having the dry box on the lack shelf. My main goal was to move the MMU on top of the enclosure. I wanted to keep easy access to the buttons and lights and i didn't want to cut the Plexiglas.

I like your design! Keep up the good work.

Thanks,

Adam
