A design to mount Boscoyo Studio 16-inch snowflakes. This allows mounting the snowflake on a 1-inch schedule 40 PVC pipe (USA spec). The mount uses a 1/4-inch bolt passed through the pipe, the back-mounting block, the snowflake with the front block, a fender washer, and finally a washerless wing-net. This allows single-point mounting that doesn't twist or spin.
Note that the diamond, two-prong, and three-prong snowflakes have a hexagon top, while the arrow has a star-shaped top. All three hexagons are a different size. Sorry about all the changes! getting the right files in the right places is a bit of a challenge.
I printed both with Cura and with S3D software. The profile seems better from the Cura.
- Temp 245 nozzle,
- Temp 75 bed.
- 3 walls.
- 0.2 layer height
- print speed 60mm/s
- wall speed 30mm/s
Note this was printed on TAZ5. Thingiverse dropdown would not let me choose it!
PETG can be finicky. I found that IC3D filaments do better than other PETG filaments that I have tried (eSun, inland, etc.). Also, use glue-stick for PEI beds. Otherwise you might be buying a new bed.
