I searched everywhere for the plans to make a Unwhole Box but could not find it anywhere so I ended up just making my own.
I didn't research if there is suppose to be some mathematical outcome I just randomly place the circles.
The box can take up to 12 layers, 8 seems to be ample but there are 9 in the file. Every cube is on a separate layer in the same cut space so you can just go through them to make the cuts.
There are more than 2200 circles, its also not perfect or spectacular but you can move the circles spacing to suit your demeanour if you like
All the objects are individual, can be slow to to move things between layers, but just switching them on and off for each cut is fast. If the file is super slow on your machine copy it and split it into two by deleting the alternating parts in each file, should make a huge difference
Be careful when you assemble the box the tolerances are tight and due to the fact that the sides are now holy, they break if you apply too much pressure. Only apply pressure at the point you trying to press in. I start in a corner and go one F Slot at a time
I cut this on 3mm MDF
There are three cuts to each section in this order, I have a 50W laser:
Vector Engrave - 30mm/s - 25% power
Raster engrave - 250m/s - 25% power
Vector cut - I do 10mm/s 75% power but put it as hight as you need so that all the pieces are loose falling put. You can't force them, 2/3 times you will break the side
