Hi I-bioloid! I'm curious to ask you some things:

1/ In the summary, you said these are pre-production files, did you finally uploaded production ones? Is there differences?

2/ On the official download page http://support.robotis.com/en/product/robotis_mini/download.htm Robotis missed a lot of STP design files given in STL format for 3D printers. Where did you get yours? (You're a Jedi Knight!)

3/ In both Robotis files and yours, it always misses some pieces shown here http://support.robotis.com/en/product/darwin_mini/parts_list.htm that would be very very useful to fork this project like I aim to try nowadays! Do you have pieces you hadn't uploaded for some reason?

i know i already asked, but do you think you can design the fasteners and post please? thanks!

I would suggest buying a few bags of the OLLO rivets. As I have had no luck printing out the rivets myself.

I want to print it and I started with one foot but I am not able to find the part that says in the instructions SPD-3b7 (http://support.robotis.com/en/product/darwin_mini/parts_list.htm) What am I missing?

what about the fasteners?

For the DARWIN-MINI right now the cheapest and easiest way to get fasteners and all that you need to build the robot is to buy the kit.

Just a suggestion but the 3D printed version of the head needs cross brace support for the mounts like the injection molded version that comes with the kit, the mounts are a little flimsy without it, obviously it still works and not critical.

Hello and thank you for this amazing sharing! I would know three things:

  • where can I find the hardware list of necessary electronic parts?
  • does this robot can embed Linux in any way?
  • is it possible to add easily a webcam and a microphone, according to you?

Intel Edison as a brain maybe for higher level processing, like with a camera or to run Linux

I'm new to robotics and to programming so this project would be a fun challenge for an old guy. Will there be upgrades or expansions available in the future for the Darwin Mini?

Why wait? you can buy a cheap android tablet for under 100.00 USD.

Right now it is cheaper to buy the kit at 499.99 then to buy all of the parts separately.

Soon to be leaving thingiverse because of Makerbot's behavior towards open source.

What about pins, are you using original ones, or you plan to print them?

Not sure they are printable? Will have to buy them through Robotis. Just like the servos and the controller.

Is it possible to use regular screws?

You could if you want.

using 9g servos for a DARWIN-MINI sounds like a good project for you javacasm but not for me. :)
