2018 Voronoi Christmas Bauble
As my first non architecture related 3D printing project, I decided to make something festive with a script I had created when I was in school a few years ago.
Bauble with no supports - Recommended to add custom supports
Tried printing the ball on a raft... Had it roll away part way through the print.
Bauble with Min supports - Version I had success with printing, though at moments I was worried with it on the Ender 3 printer. Used Cura as slicer and as far as I am aware there is no way to place custom supports.
Bauble with Supports - Supports have been thickened with additional ones added for greater support. May require slightly more cleanup then min support option, but will work better on printers which struggle with finer detail.
If you like this print, a coffee would be great.
- I printed with a Raft, not sure if its necessary.
- Supports in terms of bridging aren't required, just need to prevent it from rolling away.
Modeled in Rhinoceros 3D using Grasshopper.
Ball and Voronoi pattern were created in Grasshopper using the Weaverbird plugin.
Top handle and supports were modeled by hand in Rhino.
