This Adaptor allows for GoPro style mounts to be used in place of the default on that comes with the Nestling X3 Cree LED Torch. It is secured in the same place as the original mount and uses the screw from that mount to secure firmly. By allowing for GoPro style mounts to be used it eliminates the slipping of the torch due to the rubber band not being tight enough or wet.
If you are unable to download the files you can also obtain them for free from ShapeWays.
If you do not have a 3D printer ShapeWays also offers printing services.
I also have other designs and other products available through ShapeWays. All are free to download.
There are some angles which your printer may struggle with. If this is the case you can use support materials to solve this problem.
Due to the stresses the mount may experience I would also recommend that the top (The two semi circles) are solid plastic. This can be done with increasing infill or by increasing wall thickness/layers.
The base (The section connecting to the torch) should have a few layers but does not require a high infill percentage. Depending on your side wall layer count/thickness you may be able to print with no infill.
1 - Remove the original mount on the torch. This is done by peeling back the rubber on the inside. It should expose a (star) screw.
2 - Remove this screw and make sure to keep a hold of it.
3 - Test fit the screw through the single hole on the base of the new mount.
4 - Line up this GoPro style mount hole on the base with the torch screw hole and tighten the screw.
If the screw does not fit due to quality of the print you can often increase the hole size by using a screw driver or by trying to screw the screw into the material.
The mount was designed in Creo Parametric. If you have any problems with the file or the final print please message me and I will help.
