Can you re-save it as a hollow object? The file seems to have multiple shells - there's detail on the inside that is never seen, the legs go up into the torso and such. That's probably what confuses a lot of slicers, and takes up so much space.

This is a disgrace to Star Wars.

Dont print it then...some people have a sense of humour and enjoy this type of parody for what it is a bit of fun if you dont like dont look at the file

too bad its so low polygon;(

The stl model is defective. Even after some repairs in netfabb, it's not printable with Simplify3D.

File was drawn up in solid works I have had no trouble printing it on my up mini 3d printer

I know, some slicers do not have problems with defective stl files, but others do.
You can easily check your stl files for defectives in netfabb basic.

Theres another upload of this model (http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:376652 ), it has less errors and is repairable.
Just printing it right now.

stormtrooper min

glad you came right with a file

tried the file again printed just fine what printer are you using

I'm using a home made CoreXY printer, but the problem is on the software-side.
As i said, not all slicers can deal with defective stl files. Unfortunately simplify3d is one of those.

Glad you at least found a file to print

This model is being my first high quality object printed by my new 3D printer. And I must say it´s awesome! I divided it in three parts to make the printing work easier, because removing automatically added supporting parts is a very challenging job. Next step will be painting. PLA material was used, 25% infill, Rectilinear both settings. Slices of 0.2 mm.

Hi, I'd like to try this print, but I'm baulking at the idea of the support requirements. Would you be able to share your 3-part version?

Your file could easy be manipulated and sliced. It is not defective. Obviously It needed a repair after slicing but it was quickly managed by software. Now I´m working with your other design: the Minion Darth Vader. Four parts after slicing. Two ones already printed. And certainly awesome, the detail. I fear ruinning it myself by painting it. jajaja.

Thnx mate

Put up some pics when you are done....love to see your prints
