As all owners of the Alfawise U10 know, part cooling on this particular printer is not the best. It works, but thats about all you can say of it, the standard cooling is to open and not directed to where the cooling needs to be, special as there are also vent holes in the housing to release the hot air that comes from the hot end cooling. Air from the part cooler also vanishes thru those slotted holes due this open structure.
Wanted to have a simple upgrade for the mismatch the creators of this printer had made.
Off course there are already some upgrades available, many of those are not easy to print.
With this option, the same 40mm fan that is provided with the printer will be used.
The goal was to use a minimum on plastic to print it, needed to be easy prints with a minimum use of support.
The cooling duct is made out of 2 parts:
"Cooling P1V2-3" and "Cooling P2V2-4" and both printed with PLA.
You can also print "Cooling P2V2-4" in ABS or PETG if you don't trust the use of PLA on this part.
If the bridging on your printer is ok, then don't use support.
If not and you going to use support, i suggest to do the following.
When you load "Cooling P1V2-3" in your slicer, turn it 90dgs over Z.
This makes removing of the support from the air exit alot easier.
When printing the second part "Cooling P2V2-4" turn it 270dgs over X and do NOT use support at all.
Your Alfawise should be able with the standard cooling to print this part without problems.
What you need to install this upgrade:
4x M3x20mm Flat head screws
2x M3x16mm The standard hex head screws used to mount the 40mm fan
First install "Cooling P1V2-3" with the fan mounted to the housing, using the 4x M3x20mm.
Second install "Cooling P2V2-4" when "Cooling P1V2-3" is in place.
When screwing part "Cooling P2V2-4" in place with the 2x M3x16mm,
the notch should grip in the first slotted hole of the housing.
Be careful with tightening the screws on part 2 as you screw them into plastic.
