I used this with the smallest angled spacer from https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3434296 to compensate for the flex of the damper when tentioned. For reference, I'm using the exact dampers in the photos here. Works FLAWLESSLY thank you.

Thanks for the model! Worked perfectly as I was really disappointed at first that the dampers wouldn't work. I was about to send them back. This solves the issue for new enders without movable pulleys.

That said, since we only reuse two screws on the cover, any chance of making a cover with only two holes for bolts instead of 4? That way, we don't have 2 blank holes. Would really appreciate it! Thanks!

I printed out and managed to install the plate but for the life of me I couldn't get to install the cover. I turned and turned the screw but it wouldn't bite into the dampener.

thank you for the design. I did not want to deal with the press fit so I ignore this mod for a very long time. Fits exactly as it should printed with PLA and works as it should.

The build process of this one is a bit more complicated, but the result with the other part(Y-Axis) is amazing

Thank you for creating this part as a solution to the press fit pully. Have the one installed for the y-axis and works great. I do have a request for the x-axis end stop cover. On the original part I had the Pi Cam Mount (https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2886101) attached. Your endstop cover has different dimension on the side however, which is why I cannot attach the Pi Cam Mount there. Would you be able to re-dimension the sides so that they are the same as the original cover?

Thanks for this the part works great. Just wanted to add you can actually use the original endstop cover without modification or any other hardware, just flip the switch pcb so the switch is on the other side :)

An additional thing to note that might be useful for others: The hexagonal standoff on the roller wheel by the extruder is for adjusting the tension of the wheels on the aluminum extrusion (L on the Ender build instructions). I had reassembled mine and then had to disassemble it again to figure out why the E assembly was too tight and wouldn't go back onto the tower again...

Also to note, the standard mounts for some ABL sensors may interfere with the endstop/cap. I had to shim my EZABL mount out about 5-6mm with washers to get it to home without crashing.

Ender 3 Pro, Y axis damper mount

i struggle to find the dampers as shown in your picture (i live in the UAE and amazon won't ship here). I can order only from aliexpress, gear best or banggod.
Why the other shape is not good? do you have a link where i can check the dimension of the damper posted in the picture?

The other shape is not good because the hole in the middle is too small to fit over the pulley. One person who made one of my spacer designs said he also had the wrong one but used a stepper-drill to make the hole bigger. There are a lot of good ones on AliExpress or Banggood, but the one I ordered which fits is this one (a set of 5 dampers):

I've just printed some off. At 100% infill and 4mm wall, these things are rock solid. Thank you for designing this. Tomorrow I'll be fitting them :)

Work good for me.

I used the original end, with stock screws, you just have to put some M3 spacers or nuts and turn your limit switch backwards.

Great design!! Thank you. Installation isn't "easy", but worthwhile to get a very quiet printer. Had previously done Y damper..... Have any recommendations on low-noise fans?? ;*)

Noctua 40x10 (Works with 12v, you need a buck converter) for heatsink and I have 5051 blowers fans for print cooling.

Been using it for a week now and noticed that my X belt was a bit loose.

Then I noticed that it bends a bit loosening the belt. Is that just me?

I need to find harder filament to do this, I used PLA and will try HTPLA tomorrow.

If you have problems with your Y-axis that would be somewhat strange considering this is a modification for your X-axis. If you have issues with your X-axis: did you print this part solid (100% infill)? The damper itself also allows some movement. Does it bend more over time or was it flexible from the beginning?

Sorry I meant the X axis. Also fixed some terrible typos in my comment.
I ended up not trying it yet with another filament.

I used PLA with 100% infill.

For now I'll not make it again, maybe I find another solution. It also caused layer shifts, but not due to the loose belt as far as I can tell.

Takes a bit of effort to put together because you have to take everything apart and required sourcing of two screws from my old extruder to mount the motor.

I bought damper last time but if I put it on the motor, It hit the back. And then I found your work for Y-axis and I could use the damper.
For the same reason, thank you for making this design!

Thank you for making this!! I almost returned my dampeners when I took it all apart and found I had press fit pulleys and that I couldn't use the dampeners. I searched around and fortunately someone else had already figured out a fix for this issue!

Be warned that replacing the bracket is a fair amount of work with fiddly parts that like to pachinko. Make sure there are no small children in earshot during bracket installation :)

All in all, I'm really excited to have my printer be sooooo much quieter. Thanks for making the thing!

Can I use 6mm damper?

Here are the ones i used: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07GBT851S and they fit perfectly. It says they are 6mm thick.

Hey mate, I'm in Australia and can't for the l8fe of me find similar dampers. In fact, I can't find anything like this anywhere and the link above is out of stock. Can you please point me towards an alternative? I'd hate to buy the wrong ones. Many thanks.
