After upgrading the fans in my printer, I was'nt happy with how quite the PSU was after replacing its fan. (Nearly as loud as it being stock)
I bought a 3 pack of 60mm fans (These run at about 17db) to replace the stock PSU fan for this upgrade i used ABB fans found on Amazon:
This upgrade would work great with noctua's but I simply couldn't afford them.
M3/M4 nuts and bolts will be needed.
*VERY IMPORTANT, to get the best cooling results youv've to remove the PSU cover in addition to the controller bottom. when working on the PSU unplug the mains lead, and leave the switch turned on, this will discharge any electricity in it. before powering on again switch PSU off and check all wiring, POOR WIRING AND MISTREATMENT OF ELECTRICITY KILLS.
I've wired mine to the power supply, fan socket they can also be wired to the outlet of the PSU (12V)
inside of the controller box there is a 50mm fan that blows onto the lcd's screen, its obsolete after this mod but I left mine fitted but roated 180 degrees to shift air to the back of the box.
Optionally the original feet can be glued in place to elevate the box
The model includes my remix with no vents and with vents both in .stl and .3mf
Please upload your makes, thanks for looking :)
I printed mine at 60/mm a sec, but at the bridging point (Top of the fan mount) I slowed the printer down to around 30/mm a sec. When printing I'd recommend slowing down to 30-45/mm a sec or use more supports.
