I was inspired bij the Heng Balance Lamp by Zanwen Li on Instagram.
This was made of wood but I found no 3D-printed derative so I made one.
I made parts for little and bigger printers.
- Small test parts to calibrate the slicer (with modeled supports).
- Right part + cap (2x)
- Quarter curve part + cap (4x) or half curve + cap (2x)
- Mount (6x)
- Magnet close and hole (2x)
- Pin (6x)
- Housing (1x)
Be aware that the modeled supports are sliced in your slicer (check shell thickness)

- ledstrip (3828 - 8 mm or 5050 - 10 mm)
- 2 neodium magnets, round 10 mm, thick 10 mm (must be strong N50)
- switch with (long) lever
- potentiometer for dimming (1 kΩ - 10 kΩ)
- jack socket female 5.5 mm, 12 volt
- electrical wire
- rope for the two balls
- 2x M3 bolts and nuts
- Some glue and soldering iron
The light caps can be printed in different color and fit tight in the frame, no glue required.
The caps also hold the ledstrip in place and are a bit overlap with the seams for strength.
After assembling I melted the links inside with a soldering iron for better bonding which are covered bij the led strip and light caps.
Tight the ropes to the upper half, inside with knots (and/or glue) and couple the other half with the magnets and 3 pins tightly.
At the top I used a little of the support from the caps (2 cm) and punched a hole for the rope and put it behind and between the upper 2 curve caps so it won't fall off.
Supports are already modeled in the STL-files
The shell thickness must be 0.8 or the support won't be sliced in Repetier-Host.
The outer curved and straight parts are printed sideways with modeled supports
If you print the straight ones flat it won't have the same finish as the curved parts !!
The inner curved and straight caps are printed sideways with modeled supports.
The mount brackets must be filed to fit tight.
Remove the printed supports before assembling from the straight and curve parts
Remove the printed supports from the curve and straight caps (easy done)
The pins should be filed to fit the holes.
