Hi Henry,

I bought one of your kits about 7 years ago and put the tach on my 13-40 Precision Matthews metal lathe. I built it right into the faceplate and it is a thing of beauty. It works perfectly and I love it. I have now acquired a wood lathe and would like to put one on it as well, but I understand the kits are no longer available. Is there any way that I can acquire a MachTach IC and the PCB as I would like to build another one. Thanks for creating it!

I have a burner that works with sst512 chips for tuning Hondas. Would that work? Is there a burner that ud recommend? The burner I have is from moates.net and is called burn2

I don't know but my guess is that it probably will not work. Send me a private message and I will tell you how to buy a MachTach IC. That way you know it will work.

If you decide to build a MachTach and need the programmed IC, let me know and I'll help out.

If you want to fabricate the PC board, use Express PCB. Send me a message and I'll explain how to order PC boards at the most economical price.

Hi I am intrested in building my own. Can you explain how to and what hardware I'd need to program the ic? And what all info will I need to have boards made?

Thanks Mike wilson

To make the PC board, download the free software from www.expresspcb.com and load the file I supplied in this thing. Use the Proto Plus option. I'll warn you that ordering just one PCB is expensive. It is more economical once you are ordering between 4-10 PC boards. To program the IC, you will need a programmer that can program a PIC16F690 IC. Use the supplied hex file. Load it into your programmer and burn the IC.
