These are parts to make the Wallony planter a standalone self-watering garden affixed to a board, with the watering mechanism (a 12v peristaltic pump) hidden from view.
- top planter pots, with holes in the back instead of top
- "sprinkler" insert
- left and right drainage gutters
- Y shaped tubing splitter
- peristaltic pump mount for the watering system
You'll need to screw the planters onto the board and drill holes behind the top and below the bottom planters. Then add a pump wired to ... wherever you want. I have it hooked up to a Raspberry Pi Zero running the automated gardener script from this similar project.
The water is pumped into the sprinkler and out through the drains with 1/4 in silicone tubing into a container.
I added some microfiber in the drain holes to help with directing the water and to prevent splashing. I also acetone vapored the parts and sealed all of the tube joints with hot glue to prevent leaks.
