This 3D part is a Coil Holder used to study a coil wrapped in the Counter Clockwise direction and a coil wrapped in the Clockwise direction. The North pole of a magnet will drive the signal in one direction when it passes by a coil and the South pole of a magnet will drive the signal in the opposite direction when it passes by the same coil. In both cases the direction of movement by the coil is in the same direction. If the speed of movement is the same then the North pole and South poles with create a signal that has approximately the same amplitude but the polarity of the signals will be different. If we pass the magnet through two coils where one coil is wrapped Clockwise and the other coil is wrapped Counter Clockwise we can add the signal generated by the North pole to the signal generated by the South pole which effectively doubles the Voltage generated by each pole by itself. The polarity of the Voltage Doubled signal is determined by the direction of spin as the magnet passes between the two coils. The two coils should have their wire ends closest to the magnet connected together and the Voltage reading should be taken across their outer most wire ends.
The part has 1/4 holes for wooden dowels that have 1/4 inch diameter coils wrapped with magnet wire. The coils are positioned by moving the wooden dowels back and forth to adjust the spacing between them and the magnets moving between the coils.
