My GPS navigation software is on my phone. Everything is hands free for me now but sometimes I need to glance at the phone screen when the Navigator voice doesn't make sense with what I'm seeing on the road ahead of me. I angled the phone slightly so the screen can be facing up at me.
There are 3 main parts:
Insert - varying diameters to accommodate different vehicle cup holders
Arm - One size fits all
Dock - Currently there is only one dock designed for iPhone 5 in an Urban Armor Gear case. However I hope to add more docks for a variety of phone types.
The parts are connected together using countersink M3-0.5x18 bolts straight into the plastic. Note: The bolt holes have been set with a 3.2mm diameter which works well for us for printing tolerances but our printer and plastic quality gives us somewhat rougher prints than others here may be able to accomplish.
CupHolderInsert_65-70mm.stl - has a 65 mm diameter base. From 5cm to 7cm in the vertical direction the insert flares out to 70mm.
CupHolderInsert_70-70mm.stl - is 70 mm in diameter from top to bottom.
CupHolderInsert_75-70mm.stl - has a 75 mm diameter base. From 5cm to 7cm in the vertical direction the insert tapers in to 70mm.
CupHolderInsert_85-70mm.stl - has an 85 mm diameter base. From 5cm to 7cm in the vertical direction the insert tapers in to 70mm.
We printed ours with blue ABS using the following settings:
Infill: 100% Dock, 25% Arm, 25% Insert
Shells: 1 Dock, 3 Arm, 3 Insert
Nozzle Temp: 230
Bed Temp: 110
Support: None needed
Additional Materials Required:
4x FHSCS M3 0.5x18 bolts
For best results, pre-drilling may be necessary to clean out the bolt holes before assembly.
