DYI Harry Potter Hogwarts Crest Posters. Easy and fun to make for the beginner laser cutter/engraver. For this project I used an Epilog Mini (12x24). For the settings, I found it best to use 38 speed and 100 power.

Getting Materials Together
Please see the section below for detailed materials List
Step 1: Paint
First step in this build is to paint your board. No matter they type of wood or paint, I would recommend using as little paint as you can for this project. The thinner the coat, the more the work grain shows. This is one of the reasons I love using water colors. I can really thin out the color. In addition, when etching paint, there is always residue and less paint helps reduce that.
Step 2: Drop down Thing File
Attached to this Thing are 4 thing files in AI. Please open that file and use it in conjunction with your Epilogues or any laser cutter software. For this project, I used an Epilog Mini (12x24). For the settings, I found it best to use 38 speed and 100 power set only to Raster Etch.
Step 3: Enjoy
On the laser cutter, this project should take about 35-40 mins depending on what model you are using
This project is super easy and cheap for any beginner maker. All you need is some paint and a canvas board. For this project, I had some Watercolor laying around, but any art paint works. The canvas board I purchased are 12x16, but any size will work with the project files.
