The four fingers will fold in three locations just like real fingers, the flexible joint (compliant) are one layer thick. The fingers also move independently, thanks to a flexible joint in the knuckle area.
Very long bridging is use multiple times in the model, To improve bridging, I used a ribbed design with supported landing. The model will work even if you loose some stains during printing.
The thumb spins around in 3 locations to resemble a real thumb, and can reach most of the palm area.
I Print this model in 2,5 Hrs @ 40mm/s,but I am sure you can print it faster.
I was very exited to post this model quickly and there is always room for improvement too.So, If you find anything that does not work for you, let me know and a I can make some adjustments.
The model is 185 x 72 cm base and is 63 cm tall.
First layer must be 0.3 mm and must be perfect!!!
Design for PLA with a 0.4 mm nozzle and 0.2 mm layer height.
Printing clearance among moving parts is 0.35 mm
Bridges should be printed slowly. Around 40mm/s. They are 65mm long!!!
