This is a mock silencer I designed to fit the stock barrel to fit the stock barrel of the Milsig M17 CQC.
It is a tight press fit. Super close tolerance.
I made it tight for 2 reasons.
- So that it does not fall off during play.
- There is a cavity in the silencer that may reduce loudness. The barrel must be perfectly aligned so the paintball or FS round makes it through and out without crashing. So it is tight to ensure alignment.
HIGHLY recommend printing in PETG for a few reasons.
- It is very strong. Your going to be trashing this thing in the woods.
- It is more flexible than PLA, and press fitting may crack PLA.
I have fitted this on my Marker, and it does slightly reduce the loudness. It deepens the sound a bit.however, it is not a true silencer. it is intended as a mock silencer as there are some legalities even in paintball for silencers. But it may alter sound.
there are 3 versions. one is completely open cavity. the other has ribs for baffling. I have tested the without baffling, and it does deepen the sound and makes it slightly quieter. The version with the baffling is noticeably quieter.
The 3rd and just added is a 2 piece version where you can play with wadding to make it more of a real suppressor. It is press fit and once press fit together, it is highly unlikely to come apart again.
** If you have a ring of foam about the ID of the cavity, stuffing that in will make this suppress the sound. was not designed to accommodate this, just a side effect.
