- Purchase extra, non-3D printed parts:
Soprano Ukulele Strings
Use Super Glue - Gel to bond components together. Try to use clamping when possible.
Any filament will work, but the pictures feature Hatchbox wood PLA:
HATCHBOX wood PLA
Use different color filament to accent the Ukulele. For example, I used a white PLA for the nut and saddle. I also stained the Fretboard and HoleAccent. Printing a different color will have a similar effect.
- I did not extrude cut holes the full depth for the tuning machines. This makes for a cleaner print. You will have to carefully drill holes after the print. This also adds some flexibility for different tuning machines.
1.0 mm Nozzle / 0.3 mm Layer Height
Natural / Wood / Any
Use a nozzle diameter that is a multiple of the part wall thickness. A 1.0 mm nozzle works really well for the 2.0 mm well thickness. These parts can all print in under a day if you use this approach.
A 0.4 mm nozzle will result in five nozzle passes to build the entire wall. This will work, but does add a lot of print time.
