After many quad frames and several thoughts in designing the frames, found that there is an annoying thing. The rear part of the frame's top plate. Different kind of ideas with some functionality or just some stupid hole or crack.
What if there could be simple, minimalistic design, that could become a standard that everyone can use?
So here is my proposal:
Simple, isn't it?
A central slot is in the size of sma-plug. Holes on the side are 3mm wide and about 5mm long, so you can use M3 bolts or zip ties in them. Check the following images.
Actually, nowadays, mounting SMA plug this way is less recommended. As it is prone to break in crashes.
Or you can use bolting solutions to it.
But the most proposed idea is this clip-on mount printed in 98A TPU. There is an angled hole in 45 degrees and the crack on the bottom side. So it can easily dressed on the antenna's rod. Like this:
Here is an open source Fusion360 file DiA Universal antenna mount.f3d. So you can modify and create whatever mount you want.
Take note, that there are ready to use parameters of top plate thickness and desired thickness of the mount. Use them to adjust both thicknesses.
Here are some mounts based on this standard:
Clip-on antenna mounts for DiA UAM
VTX and RX antenna V-mount for DiA UAM
Quad frames that have UAM slot:
Emodia modular quad frame
DiA Anticrime v3 LR HD quad
Please, share this idea and let me know if there are more frames and mounts :)
