Hi. How many walls do you use for the shade?

I did 4 from memory and it came out pretty good. Going to reprint it though to try avoid the overhang issues. Shame the author won't respond re the instructions link he's posted that's broken... It's a great design though.

You can get a fitting braided light bulb socket here ---> https://amzn.to/2WlOYeo

Or an all white version that also fits perfectly here ---> https://amzn.to/2EQGXTW

My goodness this is a beautiful design. I have some white PLA+ loaded in my printer at the moment so I will definitely try this one out. Great work!

Also, your idea of making the holes teardrop shaped rather than circular is very clever, I will definitely be implementing that idea in future, very clever :)

The link to the Light bulb isn't working...
Do you know alternatives like from Ikea?

Oh.... this scream Lithopahne..... lets see if it can be done ....

Make sure to post pictures if you print it :)

Nice design, I like how the arms wrap round. Could you maybe heat up and bend this part out of acrylic? Might be an interesting use of different materials.

  1. Could you identify the components that need support? The directions say the larger ones do not.
  2. For the shade, what is the best orientation to avoid supports? That is, should the large diameter (bottom) of the shade be facing down on the bed or should the small diameter (top of shade) be facing down on the bed.

Thank you,

Sure! This is the cable light socket and cable it was designed to fit (we work with DeskGrown): https://deskgrown.myshopify.com/products/e27-socket-with-braided-nylon-cord-eu-plug

Here are tips (such as printing orientation) for the lamp: https://deskgrown.myshopify.com/collections/products/products/minimal-bedside-lamp

Hope that helps :)

The tips aren't available via that link anymore. Are they available anywhere else? I printed the shade without supports and it kind of worked, but the lamp holder section is a bit stringy. It really is a beautiful design though, so I'd happily re-print the shade if there's a better way to do it.

Hi, beautiful design, I'd like to print it, but the link to the print orientation tips doesn't work. Which way shoud the shade be facing, it seems the logical orientation should be facing up, but the ring inside the shade is also horizontal, which would probably be a problem.

Assuming can’t ring this with pla use to heat constraints. Don’t want off gassing.

This is some real design! Great job!

Thank you! :D
