I've been watching your channel since before you ever did casting, back when you were doing Veg Oil! I was really interested in it and you had the best videos, but I ended up not pursuing it. Imagine my surprise when I found you again through BigStakd! I've been watching the both of you religiously for the last 1-2 years and am FINALLY getting into lost PLA after melting for years. I looked up "sprue" hoping to find something like what you made but instead I find YOUR SPRUE!!!! I'm so happy, thank you so much for posting this :D

I'm glad I could help. You'll have to let me know how you get on with Lost PLA. It's a great technique : )

I love your YouTube channel!
You have inspired me to attempt the lost pla method and build my own small foundry.
I've had a bit of practice with 3d printing but have never cast anything so wish me luck.

Thanks for sharing and as always Keep Building

Many thanks : )
Casting is a great hobby that allows us to make things that are not only fun but often of great use, like brackets and gears. For a modeller such as yourself I can imagine there'd be a great many practical applications.
Like all hobbies, you get better with time and experience. Lost PLA is my personal favourite and allows for very detailed castings, but it does require a few bits of kit, such as a vacuum system (which is why I made my own). Lost foam is very easy and a great starting point for many.
I wish I'd had your knowledge when I built my RC caterpillar tracked lawn mower. I was a complete newbie to RC : )
