I initially printed up Codemonkey1973's re-design (https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3294512) and really liked the mounting bracket, but I wanted to change a few things:
- Freedom to move the camera around and get it closer to the bed.
- Eliminate the hardware.
- Fit my Sainsmart 5MP camera module for Raspberry Pi 3.
Caveat: My printer is on a rock solid surface, so I have not tested this mount with any sort of vibration. The joints can loosen over time, but I found that is easily remedied by wedging a tiny piece of PLA into the joint.
I printed this on an Ender 3 Pro using Cura defaults, with the exception of the layer height and infill. 0.1 layer height seems to produce a stronger, cleaner part.
Orient the flat spot on the ball so that it is facing the left or right prong of the socket when you push it in. If you do not do this you risk breaking the socket.
Tightening up the joints...
If the joints on your parts get a little loose from wear, you can just wedge a very small piece of PLA into the joint to add more friction.
