I remixed Leo's Anet LCD 12864 case to be mounted on 3030 extrusion. This is meant to be top mounted and uses 4.2x3mm 3mm brass inserts. You can probably still use 3mm screws but they need to be long enough to go through the board and 3mm of space for the brass insert. So something maybe 6mm+ will work.
I also made some adjustments to reinforce the case (it was a bit flimsy for mounting):
- Thickend the side that mounts to the 3030 extrusion from 1.6mm to 5mm,
- Thickend the faceplate from 1.2mm to 2.0mm.
- Extended the inner support walls around the screen to go edge to edge of the faceplate.
- Reduced the overall width of the case so it didn't protrude is much past the 3030 extrusion and is a bit more streamlined.
Print as positioned on Thingiverse (faceplate down). It should print without the need for supports. The oval holes in the mounting tabs have a 0.2mm thick bridge support for printing that needs to be cut out before mounting.
I have not printed or used this yet so this will be a WIP until I have. If you do decide to print, please post comments on how well it worked and if anything needs to be adjusted.
