What do you mean by saying vase mode with no top layers? Please send a picture.

You can download the FBX file from the link below and edit vase model to solve your problem.

in simplify3d there is a 'single outline corkscrew' mode. This mode leaves the model with zero top layers. I was thinking that If I turn it upside down and print it in vase/spiral/corkscrew mode then how will it print the 'bottom' of the vase which would now be at the top. This really shouldn't matter with your model because now i realize that it's already modeled to be a vase unlike other vases that are solid and have to be adjusted/accounted for in whichever slicer you use. With that being said, printing this upside down definitely solved my issue. If I printed it normally i should just use supports to account for how it is modeled with the 'outside curves' starting at the bottom (if that makes sense). I'm good to go now and I am about halfway through printing. Thank you so much for your responses and giving me the opportunity to 'talk' my way through it. :-) I will post pics when it is finished!

That makes perfect sense. But what about vase mode with no top layers this way?

Is this meant to be printed in vase/spiral mode? The bottom always fails in spiral mode because of the way it's modeled.
