Two variants of a Saddle Bit style pipe stem.
Amazon Basics PLA
Here is my version of the classic Saddle Bit style of straight pipe stem. I have included two versions - one that is a bit too thin, and one that is a lot thicker. I like the thicker version myself. I am, in fact, using it right now.
I have included the Fusion 360 files (which technically are the same file, just at different size adjustments). It is parametric, so you should be able to tweak it for you needs pretty easily.
It prints upright (for me) and will need:
- A raft - to stick to the be
- Support - due to the overhangs
- Sanding - you will need to sand it for the best experience.
I have printed it on my Monoprice Delta Mini. I did have to print it four times as the first three failed. It was failing at the transition from the supports on the bottom to the stem proper. Using CURA, my final working setting was to use a 'concentric' support pattern to make that transition easier on the printer.
