This Hotend housing has 3 advantages:

  • uncontrolled cooling is prevented
  • you can cut out the ventilation grilles (to make it quieter) without damaging the original
https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3597687 (this really works - you can still hear fan noise but the high-pitched whistle is gone)
  • It is about 60% lighter than original metal case !!! :) - less weight means faster, quieter, and higher quality prints.

These silencers are pretty interesting thing. I'll try it as a separate part of the housing. Thanks :)

That's my configuration. It works great and is quieter :)
Now all I have to do is turn down the mainboard fan (with a step-down board)

Hi vijit, can you publish the solidworks file please?
Or put another design here with the original dimensions from the bottom?
Must be not exactly.

This is a remix, did you notice that? And I haven't the source file. I uploaded the STL model from the original thing into Thinkercad and remixed it there. Maybe an author of the original thing has a design file.

Where did you get your parts fan

I'm not sure what exactly you want to know. To be not guessing, here all possible answers :)

CR-10 Fan Mod - Airflow Optimization

That was exactly what I needed thanks
