An important note: Just because your filament might be food safe does not mean that your printer is food safe. The chemicals used in making/maintaining your printer were not designed to intentionally be food safe.

I have no plans to eat my printer

I do not entirely dismiss your point but it is a question of hazard and risk. I would not drink lubricants by the cup-full however the trace amounts applied to printers would be harmless. In any case if you allow lubricants to get on the bed or contaminate the filament then prints will not stick.
Most glues and hairspray used on beds are pretty harmless. They might adhere to the outside of the jar before the first wash but do not contact the food on the inside of the jar in measurable quantities.

Totally valid. I’ve just encountered this a lot on r/3Dprinting and I feel like it’s just something to keep in mind. Perceived risk and all.
