this is a remix of the Sailor moon crescent healing wand cosplay prop as a freestanding standing lamp. i replaced the original jewel part with the high detail Moon lamp model and modeled a 2 piece base to support the lamp. it uses a 500mA 12V supply and a 12v led desk lamp bulb trapped permanently inside the Moon, placed there just before the top closed in. if you used a thinner bulb than i did it could be inserted through the base of the moon piece instead of having to drop it in during print(i ruined 3 prints before i managed to do the drop in without mesing up)
use this type of bulb Amazon link. and remove the plastic bit on the leads to reduce height and overall space required. it's a fairly tight fit in there and you don't want any wasted space. this isn't the exact bulb i bought, i got mine in a walmart in the lighting section, it's a 12v led bulb for halogen desk lamps.
you'll also want a toggle switch with an overall height less than 40mm and that will fit in the 6.2mm hole provided.
amazon basics PLA
.2mm layers are fine for most of the parts, but for the moon you want .1mm if your printer can handle it for improved detail. also, although i printed the moon in glow in the dark PLA i recommend white/natural nylon or abs if you aren't sure how much heat your LED light will put out. if your light is too large to fit through the base of the moon(likely if you use the one i suggest) you'll need to pause the print partway and drop the light in place. this does make wiring it up extra fun, but i managed it and i'm sure you can too.
