This is a remix (repair) of the original files to allow easier printing. I print the two haves in pla and glue them together. I clean up any print issues and than paint with gold paint to make the finished coin.
My family enjoy making beach goers day special. One or two of these left where they can be easily found makes for some special joy to families that find them.
Printing these are easy. Skirt and 15% fill works well for me.
This is a very easy print. I use just a skirt. On my very clean bedplate of glass I heat it to 65°c and extrusion temp of 215°c. Print speed is 60mm/sec.
At the original size, it take my Tevo Little Monster will complete both haves in about an hour.
Finish by Painting with Gold Acrylic
Once the coin haves are printed, I glue them together. I will clean any areas that have small bits of plastic or stringing from the print process. I next coat the entire coin with a nice real looking gold acrylic finish. If you like, wiping them with a little thinned out black acrylic finish gives them a weathered look.
This is a remix of the original files from the included link. There was an issue with one of the two haves that would not print properly for me. I imported the original files into Microsoft 3D Builder to remesh and repair. They print perfectly now.
