I printed this for a friend's 2 year old daughter who loves snakes. She loves this model and wants to take it everywhere. It might even be better than her Frozen toys, but I think it's a close second.

Funny head and you should delete it and make a normal version :D
"Do you have an idea as to what changes should be made to make it more snake-like?"
Hmmm google and look how snake look?
I will never print that snake thing :)
I have a snake and this project makes me smile but also teases a bit. It's like putting a horse's head into a dog and calling it a great dog design.
See diffrence?

I think the head on here is spot on for the look of the model/design, i.e. cartoony and toy like. The different design you linked to looks good, but the realism of the head just doesn't go along with the body, realistic vs unrealistic.

I find model that better than my last link: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:1709106
Got better design body and look more realistic. Have moving tongue too :)
I printed 3 designs and my fav is 1709106 for now.

SNAKEZ

Congratulations, you don't like my model. As mentioned in that comment, I don't know how to 3d model so I left the head from the lizard I remixed this from. It looks like that snake you linked came out quite well, if you like it better than print that instead. Don't understand why you felt the need to bring others down because you prefer a different looking model? As I mentioned in another comment if I learn how to model/create a better head for this, then I will update the model. I posted this on here because it was a quick model I threw together for myself, and figured others might enjoy it (or use it to make their own models). Don't like it, just don't print it and move on. Easy

Hey man, thought I should let you know that I am a mental health counselor and these specific models are repeatedly requested by my clients as a sensory regulation tool. They need to regulate their senses in order to regulate their feelings. This is a model I have printed and used to specifically help them calm down and it has made a big difference in the lives of several individuals, as it allows them to think clearly, become more aware, and ultimately calmly enough confront their problems. I came on to thank you for this model as I am printing one currently, and saw this post. Let me tell you it's one of my most requested prints. My 7 year old daughter just asked me to make an extra longboi and she wants to name it something cute I can't recall at the moment, and to teach it magic. Congratulations on a FANTASTIC model and I will be printing MANY of these well designed blokes to make many a child calm and happy.

That's actually incredible to hear! My original reason for wanting to try and make this was because I liked the feeling of twisting it between my fingers and fidget with. I always love hearing how 3d printing technology has helped people (Occupation therapy tools, E-Nable 3d printed prosthetic, sensory devices, etc), so I'm glad I could help out! I'm currently working on learning how to design functional models, so if there are any tools/models you think would be helpful with stuff like that please don't hesitate to reach out and I'll see what I can do! :D

Thanks for that offer. My clients mostly are individuals with anxiety and difficulty focusing in different ways. One thing that helps almost all of them is to have something that moves in the hands in an interesting way. So, if you're looking for inspiration, we would like something that moves well off the print bed. Maybe that's a bit vague, but I trust your creativity. :)

I just printed it and it popped of the bed ready to strike. The joints were perfect!

it play´s no role how auhentic snake´s head is
..its verry cute n i´m glad to have some of them:-)

I know, unfortunately, I don't know how to sculpt well enough to make a more authentic one, so I just used the head from the articulating lizard that I got the body links from

The head still looks like the gecko... could you try to design it more to look like a snake head? I would love to print this if you do.

Unfortunately, I do not know how to 3D model/sculpt well enough to do that and produce a good result. If you do, I'd love to see what you come up with!

I just spent the last three hours trying to design a new head... gave myself a raging headache trying to do it... nothing turned out good... I contacted the original artist to see if they could make one.

No worries! Once I have more time I might try my hand at it to see what I can come up with. Do you have an idea as to what changes should be made to make it more snake-like?

It would be nice if this were curved so it could be printed larger!

Just updated the thing with a coiled version, as well as a much longer version. Enjoy!

That's a really good idea! if I get some time this weekend I'll see what I can do :)
