Jumper T16 Internal Charger Mod
The reasoning behind the modification was to remove two issues - the first of having to remove the 18650 cells (if that’s what you use) from their supplied holder to recharge them each time - sprung battery trays are infamous for causing problems.
Secondly, if using a 2S LiPo, of having to unplug the cells each time from the internal XH balance connector with the inevitable eventual failure.
In both scenarios above, the connectors are in the primary power link to the transmitter - the modification ensures that link isn’t constantly broken. Sure, the modification can create it’s own issues (mainly the BMS shutting down in low power) - but you should be monitoring how much power you have left anyway !
It’s primarily a safety thing - not to mention the cost of the crashed aircraft :-)
If you choose to incorporate this modification in your transmitter, it will probably invalidate your warranty (if you have one :-). Also, I can’t be held responsible for any errors or omissions in these instructions and it is your FULL responsibiity to ensure that the mods are carried out in a workman-like and safe manner.
Wiring used was 24AWG silicone, connector is an XH 2.5mm 3 way plug (male housing, female sockets), BMS board wa a noname 2s 2 to 2.5A from ebay, charger was a 2S Li-Ion bike light charger again from ebay. Choose the chassis connector to suit the charger connector - I used a 5.5mm dia 2.1mm pin dia 10mm long barrel jack (I had to change my charger connector as an aftertought :-)))
