Model of the French Frigate Aréthuse (1792) captured, modified and renamed HMS Undaunted 1795
My first ship model created a number of years ago and a little crude.
This is a version simplified quite a bit to be printed at small scales for wargaming. I've added 1:600, 1:700 and 1:1200 versions. The pictures of the red print are at 1:700 and the painted and rigged version was printed a few years ago at somewhere around 1:900 scale hence the very simplified deck features. Note this model is just the hull as shown in the pictures of the red print out. There are holes for 3 masts and the bowsprint (a thickish paperclip should do).You will have to make your own masts/sails/rigging at present though.
I have more models ready and am working on some of the more common classes. Some of these will be made available soon. Watch this space :)
Update: the mesh had issues with normals and this could cause the slicer to not work as expected. I've just uploaded updated versions that should now slice ok.
New: you now shouldn't need the settings below as I've uploaded versions with fixed normals. I've left for reference if further issues are found.
Old: Make sure your retraction settings are good otherwise you'll end up with stringing over the deck parts. I also had to untick the 'Mesh Fixes -> Union overlapping volumes' setting in Cura so that the mast holes and lower deck parts printed correctly.
Printed at 30mms and took about 1.5 hours
