This object is a clump of rounded spikes, kind of like a flat-bottomed sea urchin. I am interested in sculpting objects in VR and then 3D printing them, so this was a simple test of the process. I sculpted this in Gravity Sketch with HTC Vive.
After sculpting, I exported the file as an OBJ, then imported it into Meshmixer to make it printable. In MeshMixer, I made it into a solid, then I sliced the bottom with a plane cut to make it flat. Finally, I made the object hollow to save a little bit of material when printing. There is still some extra internal geometry, but it prints fine!
Adding the file here in case anyone else wants to print some round spikes as a desk ornament or something :) I printed it in Filamentum PLA, color is Noble Blue.
