This is an answer to my prayers. I have been looking into making a core XY printer, thats small and portable. This is a near perfect design. If I make one, i'll be sure to show you :)

is it possible to scale down the build platform to be smaller than this size

can you upload the CAD design files as a standard CAD file like .sat, .step or .ids?
I want to customize the design, that the parts of my actually printer fit in there.

This thing is adorable! <3 I hope you continue to have more success with this project.

how many of each part is needed

what are the lengths for the rods
and what type of rails does it use

Hi Ugo!
thanks again!
Can you send me the link to the part list. My french is very bad and I cannot navigate!
Especially I like to know, which metal parts and dimensions are used for the extruder

Hi Gigl,

As you can see, there's a BOM.xls file (Bill Of Material) in the "Thing files" Folder (here on thingiverse), with links pointing at shops where you can buy the parts. Unfortunately, some parts are still missing in the file...as far as i remember : for the extruder, i bought MK8 drive gear http://reprap.me/extruder/mk8.html. Other parts are rather standard : 624ZZ bearing and M4 screw + springs + pneumatic fits here --> http://reprapworld.com/?products_details&products_id=169&cPath=1616_1653

Best wishes for your built !

I cannot mount the motor for X/Y because it collides with the skrew, which attaches the corner to the item.
Do I need a special skrew there ?

Hi Gigl,

As you can "more or less" see on the first picture, there are only two screws holding the top beam. These screws are on the opposite side of the motors, and are sufficient to maintain the frame...
In other words, i did not put screws in the holes on the motors side.

Good luck & have fun with 3D pinting !

i want to use 623 bearings but i cannot modify the freecad part. Would you mind telling me how can i do that mod on freecad?

Maybe this tutorial could help you ! --> http://freecad-tutorial.blogsp...
and this specific topic --> https://www.youtube.com/watch?https://www.youtube.com/watch?...
See u !

Nice design! building one as soon as you have uploaded the parts and maybe you can add a list for alu profiles etc.!

Bravo, ce modèle est vraiment sympa, de plus pas mal de pièce peuvent être imprimées contrairement au modèle précédent.

Very nice design! Are you going to upload the parts soon?

I'm glad you enjoyed the design. I'm a little busy these days, I hope to upload the parts in two weeks.
