Fan adapter 30mm to 40mm for PRIMA CREATOR P120 / MONOPRICE SELECT MINI / PROFAB MINI
I wanted to change the original fan to mount a quieter and more powerful one.
I tried some adapter available for 30mm to 40mm fan but I found some problems with the screws so I decided to design an adapter as simple as possible.
Currently I have it mounted with a fan "Xilence Fan XPF40 WhitBox - (40 x 40 x 1 cm, 12 V, 3P CE)" in my PRIMA CREATOR P120 and I really do not know if it has increased a lot the air flow but the noise and the vibrations have greatly decreased.
Originally designed for the PRIMA CREATOR P120 printer, it can be used directly for MONOPRICE SELECT MINI V1, PROFAB MINI, and probably for MONOPRICE SELECT MINI V2 and MALYAN M200.
The file FAN-ADAPTER-30-TO-40.stl is ready to be used directly, obtaining an adapter that fits PRIMA CREATOR P120 with fan "Xilence Fan XPF40 WhitBox - (40 x 40 x 1 cm, 12 V)"
The file FAN-ADAPTER-30-TO-40.scad is the source for SCAD in which you can modify the parameters of separation of the screws on both sides and the total height adapting it to other printers and fans. It can also be used through "Customizer".
All drills are M3 with a diameter of 3mm. The holes on the side of the fan of 30mm are passed, and those on the side of the fan of 40mm are designed to directly screw the screws in the plastic, although you can also use nuts if you like.
4 M3 screws (3mm) to hold the 40mm fan. The length can be between 5mm and 15mm greater than the width of the fan.
4 M3 screws (3mm) to hold in the 30mm part. The length can be between 10mm and 15mm. Or you can simply use the original screws.
To install the new fan "Xilence Fan XPF40 WhitBox - (40 x 40 x 1 cm, 12 V)"
I simply cut the original fan cables and soldered the black and red wires of the new fan.
This thing is working ok currently on my printer, I hope it is useful for you.
