Very well done! I really appreciate and enjoy the videos.

I requested this via the survey! Thanks for uploading it!!!

What is this? A thruster mount for ant spaceships?

Wait... the other files are larger :)

Awesome design! Thanks!

I wonder if this (or some near derivative) would be a viable motion platform for say, some desktop CNC device.

Love these prints guys, btw do you have tools or hand rules to calculate these CM's? I have both books now but a bit lost on where to start. Cheers !

Good question. For this specific model the process is discussed in this publication: https://www.mech-sci.net/4/381/2013/ms-4-381-2013.pdf

In most circumstances we start with a rigid-body model of the mechanism (section 6 in the Compliant Mechanisms book) and make a prototype. We then convert it to a compliant mechanism using the pseudo-rigid-body model (section 7). This process is often referred to as rigid-body replacement (discussed in section 8.1). At this point the mechanism is refined through stress calculations (sections 2 and 3) and prototyping. Appendix E is an especially helpful reference for many pseudo-rigid-body models of various compliant mechanism joints. Hope this helps!

This is neat! Thanks!
