Recently i discovered puzzleboxes... the first one i made was from a design i found on the internet...
This one is the first i attempted to design myself. To be fair, this is an evolved design so that i needed to glue less.
I will not give a solution to open it.... but i will leave an assembly guide in the post printing section.
I timed the people trying to open it.... after 4 minutes they got a tip.
One person opened it in less then 2 minutes without any tip..... well done Sean!
When publishing this i am already designing another one... a bit harder to open I hope.
I use 1.75 mm filament... you will need a short piece to assemble it.
For the assembly you need also glue (i use pa glue) and a short piece of 1.75mm filament of the same color as the printed parts.
First glue the parts called body1, body3 and body 4 together.
Slide in body5... but not the whole way yet....
Slide in body6 as far as you can.
Now slide in body9 as far as you can. Beware it is not symmetrical, if it goes to far turn it arround so the edges are smooth with the parts of step1. Once this part is in, you can slide body6 back up and body5 the whole way thru.
We can now insert body2, pay attention to the drawing to see on which side the hole has to come.
Push a piece of filament thru the hole.... by sliding body2 up and down as well as body5 you can test if the filament goes deep enough. Body 5 may not move until a certain point and body 2 has to move quite good. If correct you can glue the filament... be sure not to glue the body's together....
Step 4 (beware the part is not symmetrical)
Step 5 (pay attention to the hole... it must be on this side.)
