Watch Zeldathon Heals from Thursday, June 13th to Wednesday, June 19, 2019! All proceeds from this charity gaming marathon will benefit Help Hope Live.
Here's a keychain made especially for this event. I even sent almost 300 of them along to Zeldathon, in two colors!
The additional hardware used is listed below in Post-Printing.
If you enjoy this design, please make a donation to Zeldathon! Please mention where you came from in the comments. If you're not sure how much to give, I recommend $3.00 as a good starting point. (Or $3.14 if you're nerdy.)
Silk Gold / Silk Black
I purchased the Gold and Black filament from Amazon.
You must have very good bed adhesion due to the small surface area of the first layer. I'm printing on a glass plate and using Magigoo.
I was able to print these in batches of up to 12 without too much issue. Because there's a chance of breakage during assembly, it may be a good idea to print multiples.
The beads are red and lilac Opaque 18mm Heart Pony Beads from BeadTin.com. (Also available on Amazon.) Insert these from the top-end of the print, top-of-heart-first, at an angle of 30-45º. This requires a lot of force, and occasionally breaks the piece (< 10% of the time in my production run). You may wish to press the bead against a table or other sturdy surface to center it in the piece, and then rotate it into place.
The small built-in support under the keychain loop comes off easily. I cleaned up some stringing using a penknife.
The full assembly includes a Pikaworx tag and 1" keychain. The packaging is a laser-printed 3x5 card and 2-mil reclosable bag. The included rupees/rupoors have not yet been published...
