This fan cowl fits a bondtech fitted with an e3d Volcano hotend. Accepts 3x 40mm fans. I really wanted to use Sunon maglev 40x20mm fans because of airflow, reliability, etc. This is going to sound crazy to some 3d printing community members, but Noctua is overrated and the airflow is too low for my taste. I prefer to trade a small amount of noise for proper airflow.
Custom - CoreXY modified 4max
I've included a picture of the orientation I used to print. It worked fine, but my printer apparently went too fast on the clip for front fan. I just broke it off. If it becomes a problem, I have lots of gaffers tape in my house. lol.
I designed this for brass inserts in 10 places. The top two holes should be drilled out so that flush mount m3 screws can hold it in place, the rest are meant for brass inserts to mount fans. Front fan will only be held by bottom two screws.
Designed in Fusion 360
I designed this in Fusion 360. The file is attached. It's what I wanted, but I'm sure an experienced f360 user would have been able to do much better. I'd consider my skills to be that of an extremely casual user. Feel free to remix/improve. I needed the fans to sit high as not to hit my corexy belts.
