This adapter allows to mount a standard 130mm center 5 bolt sprocket on a hub motor bolted to the spoke holes. A possible application could be to use that hub motor as a pedal powered generator. My reason for designing and building this is the pursuit of uphill torque. While the planetary gear motor can be used to drive a wheel via the sprocket mounted to this adapter, I actually use it to have the geared down input from yet another motor, namely a washing machine motor that drives a belt reduction and the larger belt wheel will drive a 12 tooth freewheeling gear that drives a 58 tooth gear that is mounted via this adapter.
Since I am using a rear wheel hub motor it will have 3 ways of powering the rear wheel of my vehicle project.
- Pedal power via 7 speed gear set and derailleur
- Hub motor itself
- Washing machine universal motor with triple gear down altogether ( https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3725694 )
You can use this 58 tooth gear I am offering in my ebay store: https://www.ebay.de/itm/183625465273
The hub motor has to be a 36 spoke version (on 122mm centers). The freeCAD source is included however so you might be able to adapt this for your purpose.
I printed in 93% infill PETG and the ring appears incredibly strong (@140g weight)
