1 and 2 degree of freedom joysticks (2DOF with safety switch) for controlling the 6WD robot base plus 5 degree of freedom "master" controller for controlling the 5DOF robot arm in a Master-Slave configuration (the "slave" arm on the robot assumes the same posture as the "master" arm that the operator manually positions).
Note: 3D printable designs are licensed CC(BY-SA). Code is licensed GPL V2.
This design is part of the Open Academic Robot Kit, a family of robot designs designed to lower the barrier of entry to interesting robotics. All of the designs consist of parts that can either be 3D printed using a low cost FDM printer, or obtained off-the-shelf (or via mail order from various sources) around the world. All designs are released under CC(BY-SA). Software necessary to demonstrate the robot's basic capabilities is also open source.
