Southampton-class 32 gun frigates of the British Navy.
A series of 4 ships ordered and built from 1756 to 1759. In service from 1757 through to 1812.
HMS Southampton, Minerva, Vestal and Diana

The ship hull and shape was built as accurately as possible to admiralty plans. The hull under the waterline was then removed and the upper parts were simplified in detail at the bow, thickened in the stern, windows exaggerated, and deck detail exaggerated. All this to be able to print out on an FDM 3d printer at 1:600 and 1:700 and then at smaller scales for Resin printers (1:900, 1:1200)
Photos are of a 1:700 print using an Ender 3.
UPDATE 15/07/2019: I've uploaded a 1:700 version with 3d printable sails at:
UPDATE 27/06/2019: Found that the mesh had part of the rudder embedded which was causing slicing issues. Fixed this up and have republished updated versions which should print better now. The 1:1200 one now prints fine and is in the new pictures alongside the 1:700 printed version.
UPDATE 26/06/2019: Added a new 1:1200 version with enlarged mast/bowsprit holes and simplified/thickened raised edges. Not had a chance to try printing it yet but slicing tests looked good last night.
This means the 1:700 and 1:1200 versions now have holes that should fit a small paperclip wire thickness. I simply straightened a paperclip out, cut it to the required mast length and then inserted as required. If there is a little play then a bit of filler or glue should hold it.
